This is an Advance audio frequency generator (AF generator), used for producing stable sine and square wave signals across the audio range for testing amplifiers, filters, and other electronic circuits. With selectable frequency ranges and output level control, it was commonly used in laboratories, service workshops, and broadcast engineering from the early 1950s through the 1960s.
