Crompton Parkinson Ltd. ammeter, England. A bench-mounted electrical measuring instrument designed to measure direct current up to approximately 5 amperes. The meter features a moving-coil mechanism with an internal shunt and a clear analogue scale marked in amperes. Housed in a polished wooden case with glass front, instruments of this type were commonly used in electrical laboratories, teaching environments, and equipment testing during the early development of electrical engineering. Early 20th century, c.1910s–1930s.
