A portable electrical test instrument designed for measuring very high resistance values in electrical insulation, expressed in megohms. Instruments of this type were used for testing the insulation integrity of cables, transformers, motors, and electrical installations by applying a high test voltage and measuring leakage resistance. Intended for laboratory and field electrical testing work. c.1940s–1960s.
